The program aims to train intermediate staff who is between the senior manager in the field of work and the worker and technician. Our graduates have more theoretical knowledge than the technician, more practical skills than the engineer, and general knowledge about Occupational Health and Safety.
The “Regulation on the Duties, Authorities and Responsibilities of Workers and Technical Staff Working with Work Safety and Working Procedures and Principles” issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security within the framework of European Union necessitates the employment of engineers and technical staff responsible for work safety.
The aim of the Occupational Health and Safety Program is to increase the productivity of workers and factories and thus to increase the profitability of the company. In addition to that, it aims to create a healthy and safe environment by minimizing the risks in the workplaces and eliminating the dangers.
World Health Organization; explains the duties of Occupational Health and Safety employees as “maximizing the physical, mental and social conditions of employees, applying protection methods to prevent damage to their health.”
According to the estimations of the International Labour Organization, there is a workforce of around 3 billion, 1.2 billion of which are women worldwide. Since every improvement in work is closely related to everyone in the world. It consists of many important components such as employment, working conditions, social security, vocational education, occupational health and safety, and occupational health and safety are of particular importance among these components.
Approximately 1 million work accidents occur every day in the world, which makes up 4 percent of the total gross national product of the world economy. Besides, unfortunately 2.3 million people die each year because of occupational accidents and occupational diseases.
Occupational Health and Safety Program is one of the first steps that will increase occupational safety in order to create a healthy and sustainable workforce, improve the quality of life of our employees, increase productivity for our businesses and improve our production quality.
The Purpose of the Program is to train the personnel needed by the Industrial Organizations and to train "Occupational Health and Safety Technician" who can undertake the entire occupational safety responsibility of the enterprise.

Job Opportunities
Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 provides important job opportunities to graduates of the program. Graduates of the program work as "Occupational Health and Safety Technician" in all institutions, organizations and businesses, commercial centres, multi-storey high-rise buildings, universities and school, shopping centres and public centres, firefighters, civil defence and similar emergency organizations.
Education Programs
Our students who graduate from the program will be able to ensure the safety of workplace, follow the legal procedures related to disaster-based emergencies and professional emergency organizations in the region. Our graduates are equipped with planning and management information related to environmental safety.
Considering the requirements of the industry, it aims to raise technical staff who have the knowledge and skills appropriate to the expectations of the industry, can think analytically, adopt professional ethics, are aware of their responsibilities, are prone to group work and working hard.
Our department, which is aware of the importance of applied education in Occupational Health and Safety Education, provides trimester education for students (1st Year: 2 terms for School Education, 1 Term for Workplace Education - 2nd Year: 2 terms Workplace Education, 1 term for School Education) who will actually spend their education in the sector.
The Trimester Education Model, which is a model specific to our school in our country, has been implemented since the academic year of 2012-2013. In this way, our students will be fully prepared for business life before graduation. The practices of our vocational courses will be carried out within the framework of the Joint Health and Safety units, which include all kinds of infrastructure, and the Joint Health and Safety units, within the framework of the Education Cooperation Protocol.
